I was on the maiden horse now since I exercise Baylee earlier. I was on the yard and stroked Mystery the filly had her blinkers on and I mounted up on the impressive bay filly. I circled her around as we were exercising with a G5 mare this time. It was simple to give Mystery some confience in the racing career since she was now four and she haven't won her race, which was kind of sucks. She came second and third, but nothing after that. So this year we think she would break it finally.
Then finally our potential broodmare for next year came on the track. She was impressive filly and was luckily to find her in the sale. She was still fast and had lot more racing in her yet. I normally ride but for the workout our temp jockey Luke was riding her, since I couldn't ride two horses at once, though it would be kind of fun.
Finally on the turf track which was slightly wet due to the light rain. This is didn't bother both horses and we give them a five minutes breeze to warm up, which was about one full circuit around the track. The muscles were all loosen and ready for action, we were loaded into the gates. I stroked Mystery's neck which was normal for me before they race.
The gates were open and both horses broke smoothly, it was obvious that Sweet Pea would have slightly more advantage due to her experience and she was leading slightly, with just a neck though. I managed to settle Mystery into her position, and let her run there, just allowing her sneak up a little so her head was matching the other horse. Sweet Pea didn't care about the cunning speed, and kept on with her speed.
The final turn was coming and I was giving Mystery a tap with the whip for her to get into the race and speed up a little. But she wasn't capable to catch up Sweet Pea, and was like four length in front of us and cross the line with no problem. I slowed down Mystery and stroked her neck, for her to have some confidence, but Sweet Pea was a natural and lot more stamina then Mystery, which what count in the end.
